World famous street artist Shepard Fairey, founder of the OBEY, is taking downtown Detroit’s public art scene world renowned! Fairey is making history with his largest mural to date at One Campus Martius. He is also creating several new pieces for The Belt, the art-filled alley that cuts through The Z. (See map below) Fairey’s thought-provoking artwork will be celebrated during an opening at The Belt this Friday night, May 22, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Join Bedrock and Library Street Collective under a canopy of lights for an evening of food, music and art that can only be seen in downtown Detroit! Music by the Detroit-based indie-pop band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., The Detroit Party Marching Band, and a DJ performance by Shepard Fairey himself who will mingle with the crowd
